In most places a hairstyling appointment would include a hair wash or at least a blowdry to prep the hair for a hairstyle.
In the Riviera Maya and most Caribbean locations, these steps change. We have very hot and humid weather all year round, think of it like being in a sauna room permanently. This is why bringing dry hair to your appointment is essential.
In this weather hair takes a much longer time to dry, so prepping the hair with a blow dry is not the best for most hair types. Because of the humidity, we are constantly battling with your hair returning to its natural state so starting with the most dry hair is the most helpful. This is why we mostly use hot tools like flat and curling irons. Also, we don’t want to take valuable time out from the hairstyling appointment to just blow dry the hair.
